Set screen design

The basic screen of Unipos Plus can be fully customised.

The settings are determined via the screen menu on the administration page:

1. menu: screen
2. items from the selected category
3. the selected category
4. the settings menu
5. the confirmation button

Both article buttons and categories can be edited.

At any time, the layout can also be reset alphabetically and neutrally via the 'reset layout' button

Customise articles:

The order to set the screen is as follows:

1. define columns and rows
2. insert spaces
3. adjust the position and size of the buttons
4. choose the colour

define columns and rows:

For each category, the number of columns can be set, as well as the height of the buttons:

By default, 6 columns are suggested with a row height of 120 but another value can be entered. For categories with few items, larger buttons are usually provided and for categories with many items, more columns with lower height can be set.

insert spaces:

When building the screen, the buttons are 'pushed' upwards, filling the top and leaving the bottom free. However, sometimes it is appropriate to create free space between buttons and for this purpose a space can be inserted that takes the place of a button but is not visible on the IPad's home screen:

Different spaces can be added by pressing the 'add space' button.

Adjust the position and size of buttons:

This function only works using a computer mouse.

Buttons can be 'dragged' to a position. The top of the screen is filled first. If a button needs to be at the top, this position is freed up by adding the buttons of this column at the bottom of other columns first.

By clicking and dragging the bottom-right corner with the mouse, both the height and width of a button can be adjusted. In this way, the screen can be fully customised to your own design:

Choose colours:

Item buttons can be coloured in two ways: 1 colour for all items within a given category or individual colours per button.

Colour per category:

This option is most commonly used because colour tells the user immediately which category is active:

The 'Automatic colours' button is used to select what colour the article buttons within this category will be:

Individual colours:

Within the same category, it is possible to give buttons an individual colour:

The buttons are selected by tapping 'set colour' (1), then selecting the buttons to be coloured (2) and confirming (3). A pop up with a colour palette appears:

Both the background and the colour of the text are set:

Changes are always confirmed via the 'save screen' button.

Customise categories:

The order of categories is determined by dragging them to the desired location with the mouse.

An icon can also be added to the category button. This can be done automatically via the 'set icons automatically' button (2). The system then searches for the most applicable icons to all categories, or one particular icon can be added per category via 'Category' (1)

Always confirm the design via 'save screen'.

TIP: If you wish to start again, you can use the 'reset layout' (3) to reset all articles within this category alphabetically, colourlessly and with the standard dimensions.

We recently added a new feature: This provides an extra button on the screen that opens the cash register drawer if one is linked to the cash register.
