The Unipage webshop has several functions that can be used to attract consumers or increase orders. Some functions are always applicable, while others are part of the Professional formula.

We distinguish different aspects:

  1. Setting up the webshop
  2. The banner
  3. upselling
  4. discount codes
  5. pop-ups
  6. Joyn
  7. URL promotion via QR codes

Webshop design:

It goes without saying that an attractive shop encourages consumers to buy. Several things are important, most of whose applications are described in ‘Creating and customising products’:

  • well-organised: a clear division into categories makes it easy to find an article.
  • Pictures of articles: seeing products makes you buy them. This is a very important part of the web shop. Adding well-kept and professional photos contributes enormously to an attractive webshop. Products can also be highlighted and highlighted via the photos.
  • description of the articles: When an article is tapped, a pop-up appears in which the description can also be read. A commercial message can be placed here. What is also possible when inspiration fails a bit is to have the description written by artificial intelligence.

The banner:

The banner is a very simple but highly efficient tool that can be used to convey a direct message; it is the first thing the customer sees when he arrives at the webshop. How to set it up is described in: ‘webshop texts’

Upselling:

When a customer completes their order, it is possible to show another category at the end, before payment, with the message that many customers order another item from this. A typical example of this is to show the drinks category again when food is ordered. The category displayed can be set via settings - products, then click a category and then select settings:

Discount codes:

Discount codes are an ideal incentive to convince customers to place an order. At the end of the order, the customer can enter the code and obtain the set discount. Creating these codes is as follows:

Via marketing - coupons, the discount codes are created:

  1. The system suggests a random letter and number sequence. However, this can also be freely entered by any expression e.g. ‘summer5’ for a summer promotion of 5% discount.
  2. Each discount code has a type of discount: either the discount is absolute and a fixed amount will be deducted from the order or the discount is percentage and is calculated on the amount of the order placed.
  3. The amount of the discount is also entered.
  4. A limit can be set so that the discount can only be applied as much as it is entered here. This can be useful if, for example, you want to grant a specific customer a discount as compensation for a mistake in his previous order. Then you can use his name as the code and set the limit to 1.
  5. You can also set a date from which the discount voucher is NOT VALID. So the discount will be granted until the day BEFORE the date entered. This option is set when a discount is valid for everyone during a certain period, e.g. for a birthday weekend.

Tip: You can also set a combination between number and end date. This way, you can reward the first x customers with a discount within a certain period.

Pop ups:

An extension of the banner is the use of a pop-up. For example, instead of a written message, a photo or film can be used, which naturally enhances the message. Formatting a pop up is as follows:

A pop up can be added via marketing - popups:

The pop-up box appears and this works like most ‘Word’ programmes where you can enter and edit different font types and sizes, photos, films and the like. Some experimentation soon leads to a good understanding of this functionality.

Joyn:

In the professional version, it is also possible to connect to Joyn, a third-party savings system.

When a merchant is connected to Joyn, he can request the API key to connect to the Unipage webshop. This key then takes care of the connection allowing customers to have their Unipage order counted in the Joyn savings system. The key is inserted as follows:

After pasting the key, it is confirmed via ‘save’ after which the link is set up.

URL promotion:

For this, we refer to an earlier article: ‘Promoting the webshop via links and QR code’.
